“The herd does not judge the past. It meets you where you are.” A Sacred Place for Restoration, Resilience, and Reconnection.
EquiZen Sanctuary for Veterans a peaceful refuge where the land listens, the herd responds, and healing happens beyond words. This program is rooted in respect for those who have served and now seek reconnection: to self, to community, and to a new sense of purpose.
Set on sacred land and surrounded by the wisdom of our horses, this sanctuary offers a deeply immersive experience designed to support emotional regulation, nervous system recalibration, and somatic healing from the invisible wounds of service.

What We Offer:
● Equine Facilitated Support: Ground-based interactions with our herd
help regulate stress responses, build trust, and restore presence. No
riding required.
● Veteran Led Connection: Guided by a veteran who understands the
path firsthand, this program is about healing without hierarchy, and
presence without pressure.
● Peer Bonding: Safe spaces for veterans to connect with one another,
share stories (or silence), and rebuild a sense of
brotherhood/sisterhood.
● Optional Integrative Practices: Mindful movement, grounding
techniques, creative expression, or fire circle reflections offered
gently and intuitively.
Who This Is For:
● Veterans navigating PTSD, isolation, anxiety, or transition after service.
● Those seeking a calm, grounded alternative to clinical settings.
● Veteran groups, residential treatment programs, or VSO partners
looking for holistic retreat style programming.
Why Horses?
Horses are prey animals attuned to the slightest shifts in energy. They
teach us how to be fully present, honest, and grounded in our bodies. For
veterans often living in survival mode, this can be a powerful mirror and
guide back to calm.
How to Join or Partner:
● Individual Veterans: Attend a scheduled group, or inquire about
one on one sessions.
● Organizations or Providers: Book a custom session or co facilitated retreat for your clients or unit.
● Veteran Facilitators: We welcome collaborations with peer mentors
and mental health providers interested in equine assisted healing.
